These terms govern trips booked with Velvet Wild Safaris ("we", "us"), a private safari and travel operator based in Nairobi, Kenya. By confirming a booking you accept them.
Quotes & pricing
All prices are quoted in US dollars, per person, and are "from" figures unless a written quote states otherwise. A tailored quote is valid for the period stated on it. Published prices may change with park fees, fuel, taxes or availability until a booking is confirmed.
Bookings & payment
A booking is confirmed when we receive your deposit (the amount is stated on your quote) and we issue a written confirmation. The balance is due by the deadline on your confirmation — typically 30–45 days before travel. We accept M-Pesa, Visa, Mastercard.
Changes & cancellations
We'll always try to accommodate changes to dates or itinerary, subject to supplier availability and any fees they charge. Cancellation charges depend on how far ahead you cancel and the policies of the lodges, camps and carriers involved — the schedule that applies to your trip is provided with your quote. We recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation.
Travel documents
You are responsible for valid passports, visas, vaccinations and health documents for every country on your itinerary. We'll gladly advise — including on Kenya eTA and UAE visas — but entry requirements remain the traveller's responsibility.
Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance — covering medical evacuation, cancellation and personal effects — is strongly recommended for all trips and required for trekking itineraries.
Our responsibility
We plan and operate your trip with care, but we can't be liable for events beyond our reasonable control: weather, wildlife movements, road conditions, flight changes, government action, or the acts of third-party suppliers. Where a service is provided by a third party (lodges, airlines, parks), their own terms also apply.
Your responsibility
Travelling in wild places carries inherent risk. You agree to follow your guide's safety instructions at all times, and to tell us about relevant medical conditions before travel.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any disputes will be handled in Kenyan courts.
