Kenya — The Mara, Amboseli's elephants, Tsavo's red dust, the Rift Valley lakes, the coast and the mountain.
Kenya is where Velvet Wild started — and where we know every track, camp and tide. Six signature destinations cover the country's full range: big-cat plains, elephant country…

What our guests say
Over a decade of safaris, escapes and stories from clients across 40+ countries.
We summited Point Lenana at sunrise and the whole crew made it feel effortless. Every detail — the acclimatisation pace, the food, the camp — was handled. Genuinely premium from start to finish.
Three lion sightings before lunch on day one. The camp was beautiful, the guide read the plains like a book. I've been on safaris before — this was on another level.
The kids still talk about the elephants and the snorkelling in the same breath. One seamless trip, one team, zero stress. Worth every shilling.
Kilimanjaro cleared at dawn and there were the tuskers, exactly as promised. The photography opportunities were unreal. I'll be back for the Chogoria route.
Questions, answered
When is the best time to climb Mount Kenya?
The driest windows are January to mid-March and July to October. These months give the clearest summit mornings and the most reliable trail conditions. We avoid the long rains (April–May) and short rains (November) for summit attempts.
Do I need technical climbing experience for Mount Kenya?
No. Point Lenana (4,985m), the trekking summit, is non-technical and reachable by any fit walker. Only Batian (5,199m) and Nelion (5,188m) require rock-climbing skills and gear. All our standard packages target Point Lenana.
Maasai Mara or Amboseli — which should I choose?
Choose the Mara for big cats, the Great Migration (July–October) and the widest variety of game. Choose Amboseli for elephants against the Kilimanjaro backdrop and a more compact, photogenic park. Short on time? Our Mara & Amboseli 5-Day combo does both.
Can I combine a safari with Diani beach?
Yes — it's our most popular trip style. Our 7-Day Mara + Diani and 6-Day Amboseli + Diani packages pair a wildlife safari with a few days on Diani's white sand, connected by internal flights so you never lose a day.
